I bought a complete straight axle subframe from bz rods for my nova gasser is a speedway axle kit and im at final assembly and the kingpin notch is NOT vertically lining up with the hole for the set screw I have it put together correctly I guess lol

I have the spindle on the axle with the bearing on the bottom of axle but in between the axle and spindle as it should be

When the kingpin is inserted and the notch is lined up the kingpin is sticking out the top spindle bushing to much to put cap and snap ring in

If its centered between both spindle bushings the notch does not line up with set screw hole? It's barely off

Please please help will post pic best I can

    Thanks in advance CB

If you could see inside the set screw hole it's not lined up when the kingpin is centered in the spindle... Which it has to be for caps and snap rings

That's how they do it in China. Sorry that wasn't much help. So are you sure the set screw is not in the wrong location on the axle? One or the other is FU'd. If its the king pins I'd purchase from somebody like NAPA and compare. If Speedways are off then send em back.

Did you insert the shims above or below the bearing to lesson the up and down movement so the king pin bolt will line up.

Top and bottom it's centered but you can see the notch is half exposed

I would probably just grind the pin notch a little longer and call it good.

are you sure the king pin is the right side up ?? flip it over if its not tapered and see if it lines up ..

In this picture I can see the gruve for the snap ring near the very end of the spindle. There should be a disk that goes in first then the snap ring then the dust cover. This is repeated four times and the lock pin goes in to lock the king pin in place. I have a set of king pins and a spindle in front of me and it should work. Just thinking did you get a set of kingpins for a pickup truck ????
