The 26th Annual Gunnison Car Show in Gunnison Colorado. This years show is August 16 -17 - 18, including a Cruise-In, Open Show and Breakfast Cruise.

FRIDAY AUG 16, 5-9 PM: Cruise-In on N. Main St. First Four (4) blocks closed for participant parking, Live Band - THE HILLBILLY HELLCATS !, Street Dance, registration booth, food vendors and more.

SATURDAY AUG 17, 8 AM -3 PM: Open Show in Jorgensen Park, awards ceremony at 3:00PM.

CRUISE-IN: This year the show has some great features, the Friday night Cruise-In will feature a band that I first encountered at Viva Las Vegas many years ago. From the Albany New York area, The HILLBILLY HELLCATS will be performing. The Hillbilly Hellcats, out of Denver, have played VLV many times, these guys are top shelf entertainers all the way.

DJ: The show DJ this year is "Rusty the Ragtop Rocker" from Denver ! Rusty always puts on great show, is also the front man for the ATOMIC DRIFTERS, so maybe wc can talk into singing a couple of songs as well.

In addition, there will be workshops during the day Saturday, and the Lee Iacocca award will be presented to Tammy Allen of the Allen Automotive Museum in Grand Junction Colorado.

Don't hesitate to PM me with any questions. Will be adding information along the way as things are nailed down. Hotel info to follow.

    Johnnie.

I've personally been to the Gunnison car show twice, and had a great time. For those that have never been to that region, its very scenic ,and there are a lot of things to do. The cars that attend come from all over. Highly recommended ! Axle

  9. Johnnie,
Can't wait! Always an awesome show... Both the Friday night one on Main St., not to mention the live band is always top notch (can't wait to hear the Hillbilly Hellcats!), AND the main show at the park on Saturday.
This is my 4th year in a row and a weekend I never miss.
    See ya' there!

Once again guys, If you have never been to Gunnison or the car show it is a must see. I have attended twice and had a blast both times. There is actually a ton of things to do - especially for the adventurous , and Johnnie Walker's after hours session is unforgettable . Those within a 500 mile radius need to make plans now!

Lastly, Johnnie, tell everyone the name of that restaurant in town that serves THE best chicken friend steak on the planet !

    Axle

  15. The W CAFE ......and yes it is the best Chicken Fried Steak ever found, and I'm the biggest CFS snob on the planet.

The "W" is for Western State Colorado University, which is in Gunnison.
