Leaning hard towards clipping this one. The clip seems to be the most cost effective way to get what I am after. I found a complete Camaro clip for $350 which seems fair.

If u clip it use the camaro. But...step the clip if u want it low. Mine was clipped level and I have to run small tires n front to get it down. If u r going thru the trouble, step it so it sits low. In the back we just took out some leaves n I think we nailed it.

    Thanks!
There are a lot of leaves out back (8 if I remember right)...I think we took out at least 3 maybe 4. I thought it might sag over time but 2 years alter its still the same. If you flip the back obviously your going to be real low. Its cool too, but plan on C-notchin and possibly raising/modifying the bed.

A c notch and pulling springs sounds like the way to go on this one.

I never would have imagined the corvair option, thanks for sharing.

Good stuff everyone thanks for all the input!

Thanks for the link. I actually took the time to read it before I started this thread. I knew it was a solid option but I wanted to explore other options out there.
The crown Vic option came in second. They are 65 inches wide and would have required a new set of wheels. I want to run steel wheels with baby mobs and trim rings on this rig.

nice! looks like it is in pretty good shape. Did you have an option for the yellow one behind it or the '64-66 chevy on the passenger rear?

That truck looks pretty good to me. I have seen them a lot worse go for a lot more money around here.

It is pretty darn solid. I found a 56 after I purchased this one and I like the single headlights better. The 56 is more expensive than this one and in similar shape.

The 66 is sold but the yellow 58 us for sale. The guy who owns it wants $4500 for it. It is a South Dakota truck and does have some light rust showing up. As far as I know it runs and drives.

I clipped mine with a 76 z28 sub. Second gens are easier to hook up the steering on and have great clearance. You also have the option of drop spindles and lowering springs if you want. I would recommend lengthening the wheel base at least 1.5-2". I think the wheel placement looks better this way with the way the fender opening is. Just my .02$

http://www.e-zchassisswaps.com/index.php I ran upon a rolling 83 chevy pu short box chassis with a set of rally wheels I can pick up cheap, I am kicking around going this route. Has anyone used the kit in this link?

I also located a couple camaro stubs with disc brakes for $350 each, is that a fair price?

Nice looking truck, I think it looks great as it is. But everything is interchangeable between 55 and 59. I personally like 58/59 dual head lights, 57 hood and the 55/56 grille.

If you like the single ones you can probably find a set of fenders and grille surround in the for sale section. Keep your original inner skirts earlier models had hood hinges on the firewall. Also be certain to get the single headlight pig tail, it should plug right into the wiring harness (can also get a repop).

I am also kicking around sending the truck down the road to someone who has a clue on the right direction to go with this build. See the for sale section for details.

I got ahold of the guy with the frame kit over the weekend. I have a couple of folks interested in the truck but if it don't go to a new home within the next couple of weeks I will order the kit and dive in head first.

Update: I sold the truck so I am going to play with my 51 Dodge now.
