  1. I thought that was pretty cool. We were next to each other for a couple days, before I caught it.
They were scanned photos decals , I believe.

Tman, sorry I missed you. look forward to meeting you. Yes we had some issues:
No chutes (plural, car has 3)
Brakes got over heated trying to stop from about 270mph
And finally a fire, had to use the bottles
Oh well somehow it was still a blast
    Thanks,
    Todd

Someone posted this above, there is a little more info I just found on it..

    1964 Garelli "Claustrophobia!" - 49CCMC BIKE

Alan Richards created this SCTA Class I streamliner.

The streamliner was build from a wing tank, and running the Garelli engine on methanol, made it produce around 10hp. Miniscule in appearance and the cramped interior made the builder name it Claustrophobia ! Driven by Warren Roll the little bug reached a speed of 55,62 mph.

Amazing thread and some amazing cars.

In a completely different vein and the vehicle is admittedly OT, I am headed back to the UK next month and will be off to the Auto Historica event which will see the Bloodhound SSC which is scheduled to attempt a land speed record next year, looking to break 1000 MPH.

One of these days I'll have enough time to dig the old beater back out and put it on the salt/dirt where it belongs

  19. Though not a popular choice, does anybody have anymore pictures of any '26 - '27 Model T coupes? It has been a pipe dream of mine to build something out of a T coupe to compete at Bonneville. Great picture of Gene's!!

  22. Alan Richard's "Eggliner" actually used a one off fiberglass body. It is way smaller than any wing tanks.
