King of Clubs 9th anual car show and drags

Guys, pre -1974 cars are wellcome to race saterday till 3 p.m. and you don't have to be in a club, the King of Club finals start at 3 p.m. and cars must be 64 and earlier and you have to be representing a club, bikes must be pre -75

 

Carol & I will be down , it will be fun , Hemi under steel , no louvers no bulges in the hood sides , stealth mode .

 

Looking forward to this year. "Miguel how's this year shaping up". Can't believe less than two weeks away.

 

The word is that a lot of clubs that hav'ent been to the show are coming this year, that should give you more guys to race and keep your hands full, we should have alot of fun this year, see ya friday.

 

Glad to see I finaly talked ya in to coming down, It will be great to see ya, try to make it down friday evening and bring your camping gear.

 

Miguel, that's great news. Once folks get a taste, they will be hooked on The King of Clubs event. See you soon.

 

Guys, you are wellcome to bar-b-que as long as it is a propane bar-b-que, bring you're own beer or booze just no glass bottles, no fire rings, no camp fires and NO FUCKING FIRECRACKERS ! Bring trailers, pop-ups or anything else you need to be confortable, camping is a big part of this event, we do have nice bathrooms with running water.

 

Bud Thomson won the mini bike drags last year, we will be having them again this year at the noon lunch break and it's free to race the mini bikes but you must have a helmet and long pants, the beatnicks are bringing one out this year as well as some other friends of mine.

 

For those who don't want to cook, there will be plenty of food for sale at resonable prices, Big Jays bar-b-que, tacos asesinos, gyros, hot dogs and sausages, as well as the track concesion stand that has some good breakfast burritos, hamburgers , snow cones , kettle corn, or you can drive down the road 3 miles to the casino for the best buffet in southern california and do a little gambleling. If you don't want to camp out , there still might be some rooms at the Riviera oaks resort, the Barona Casino, or you can stay in El cajon or Ramona

 

Great news guys, 82 degress forcasted for the show, so it looks like it won't be too hot at the event.

 

The Shifters will be there.

 

Hey Miguel, I will be here but can't make it Friday so will be there Sat' morning. we will have 2 cars in a 5th wheel flatbed trailer. Do you think we will have any problems getting a pit space. I can't wait. Had a blast last year. Such a great little track! Also, what time Sat' do the gates open for racers?....Thanks.

Joe will be defending the flathead title, For those who hav'ent heard, Shifter member (Anthony Castaneda) passed away this week, our condolences for your loss, Anthony is survived by two young daughters, the Lifters will have a donation box at the D.J. booth for them,it would be great if all the car clubs chip in. Hopefully you guys can still make it out, and again , sorry for your loss, Anthony was a great guy and will be missed.

I'll make it happen, make it there by 2:30, the race would'ent be the same with out you, maybe one of your club members can tow it up earlier so you won't be so stressed.

Man, I've heard nothing but good things about this event for a few years from Mike (the AZ whiteboy Bean Bandit buddy!) and the coverage on here has always been outstanding, and as it turns out I just may be out in DelMar visiting some friends this weekend...

Now I just need to convince them to drive my ass to the track on Saturday! Fingers crossed...

what are the safety requirments to drag race your car?

 

Still have vendor spots and a few swapp spaces, show up anytime from 3p.m. today till 9.a.m. tomorrow, gates open today at 3 p.m. and we will leave them open all night ,I'll be camping out there and my cell phone should be working if anyone has any questions.
Girls break out your go-go atire, we will be having our Miss Barona a-go-go contest , King Kat Hollywood will be sponcering a prize.
To race, the safety rquirements are ; seat belt, helmet, batery hold down and a catch can for the radiator, its 40 dlls to race and includes admition, general admition is 15 dlls , and there is no charge to show your car, kids are cheaper. camping starts today at 3 p.m. show go's from 10 am tomorrow till 12 midnight.

 

Thank you Miguel & the Lifters CC for putting on this event. Between the car show, drag racing, burlesque, Hot ladies walking around everywhere and cool bands Saturday night. It's always a blast.
