And points in between!!** Follow for live updates and fun at: www.facebook.com/AliceGoesToBonneville My name is Liz Leggett from Montreal, and I have worked for several years as an automotive journalist. I have been taking images of various cars for several media outlets such as "The Montreal Gazette" "Revolution Motorcycle Magazine", "Sympatico Autos" and "Canadian Hot Rod Magazine". Last summer, I went on an insane cross country road trip living in a 1974 VW Wesfalia Bus. We drove along stopping in Detroit, Memphis and Nashville, jumped on Route 66, drove through Las Vegas, into Wendover Utah, where I took pictures on the Salt Flats of Utah at Bonneville Speedway during speed week, where hundreds of cars set land speed records every year. From there we drove to Santa Monica where I attended several car events and toured several old school hot rod shops. We then jumped back on the 66 all the way to Chicago then home to Montreal again, completing the trip in six weeks, with 15 000 images and 9,000 miles clocked. We have decided this was too amazing not to repeat, and have been planning to go again this year. This time we have decided that I will be driving my family's stock 1950 Chevy along route 66 back to Bonneville and will probably tour around California a bit before heading home. We have several stories lined up for automotive journals. Would you guys be interested in a video diary of my trip or perhaps a gallery or two? We plan to leave the 27th of July. Let me know if this intreats you. Here you can see some of the images I took last year: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.418255741557772.88135.191019050948110&type=3 https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.439877026062310.92891.191019050948110&type=3 https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.429827140400632.90986.191019050948110&type=3 http://lizleggettphoto.tumblr.com/tagged/route-66 I will be posting on Alice's Facebook page as my trip goes on Don't forget to like for updates!!! Hi Liz, Glad to see you found where they grow cadillacs.Next you need to try for the 64oz steaks, good luck. Appears Alice is still clicking along, remarkable for an old gal of her years. Torx41 J. A. Luper
