after seeing the 62 lsr ford truck, i got to looking for 60 - 66 lsr chevrolet trucks, but can't find any, and yes i have used search in many different ways but still none. does anybody have any pics of one?
The pickup classes are kinda thin. Most folks are not as dumb as us. Who would take a C10 or Unibody and try to go fast!? Look at Tims Unibody thread, we had a red Chevy in our class last year that was really nice. He posted a shot of it.
Getting away from the orginal question of the thread... There's the 981 Yellow Y block Ford, too. I think Tim had something to do with that, as well. Was that The Brick? As well, a couple Studes (just beautiful trucks IMO) and the red short bed (step-side) that Tman mentions, which sounded mean. There's always later models that come and go, too. I can't think of any older Chevy pickups for some reason. It may be that they're just not something I generally focus on, so I pass them by. I'll keep my eyes peeled this year.
Charlie Burns owns the Yellow Brick. Tim built the motor and took his rookie runs in it. Charlie set a record in that truck which is being converted back to the street. His new truck is OT but with a crazy Yblock in it.
I believe I remember Norris on the salt every August that I've been there (6 yrs straight) - Brings several different sized bullets and re-sets his own records. Very cool truck!
That Blue Chevy is a guy from Boise Idaho. He drag races that truck the rest of the year with a friend of mine! Has a totally different drivetrain and swaps it out for Speedweek!
