I got this '32 Bullnose/emblem off my buddy Sam Rambo. He got it from an old hot rod geezer from Cali, now living in Tulsa. Geezer said he bought it at a swap meet back in the 70's in Cali. He said it's a repro.

My question is...what year did they start reproducing these bullnoses? Yeah, the porcelain emblem is the real deal. Anyone recognize the maker of this bullnose?

Sorry that I can't help specifically but I believe that I bought one from Harold Looney (Vintiques) in 1972 or so.

Vintique made them in the early 70's and I still have a couple in my display case. I used to take them off and fill the shell in those days.

yeah...it's heavier than an original, but I can't tell if it's bronze or not.

This one of mine dates from the 60's; I think it was from Argentina.
    It's not magnetic, probably brass.

Interesting...I wonder what company made it?

Can anyone shed any more light on this subject?

Before Vintique and Drake came along, Gene Scott used to import stuff like this from Argentina. He offered some cast aluminum 40 deluxe and standard grills we used to refer to as"whole fillers" as they were better than nothing, but not much. I had one in my 40 pickup for decades until I finally stepped up to a Drake one a few years back.
