Glad somebody posted a pic of Chuck Porter, Love that truck. I chopped mine 2" in 1980, proportions not so bad. Always dreamed of a section. It's surprising how small the Porter truck looks in person.

  3. Quick PhotoChop.
Channeled and sectioned cab, Sectioned fenders and hood. Stretched fenders just a touch.

Thanks for all the ideas. I think a mild sectioning and channelling would really take it in the right direction. Don't want to lose too space in the cab, nor do I want to lose the bed at all.

  6. Overchopped for the stock dimensions of the rest of the truck!!!!!!

Hey, he asked for opinions so there ya go

  7. Light section of the cab and hood should get you where you want to be.

  8. remove the front bumper cut the lower edge of the front fenders about 1/2 way up the hieght of the front bumper bracket openings and then fill in the remainder of those holes

but I am with the others that said the chop is pretty radical im not a huge fan of the 48-51 f1's mainly because of the factory grille and the opening

I think it's a little too heavy in the nose also - a little too much chop . Lots of good ideas floatin' around this thread , so I'm sure something good will come out of it .

Shorten the front fender behind the wheel and pancake the hood

Yeah, I think I opened a can of worms. I think I'm gonna plan out a major redo at some point, but for now, she sits as she sits. I'm already planning on fixing the roof as the chop wasn't done very well. (I got it that way, reason I liked it in the first place).

I'll get to it eventually. Racejam and I have something else up our sleeve with another project. But yeah, it will get done eventually!
