From Tex-Mex to Tim Horton's. Congratulations, that is a fine looking car and your FE idea gets a huge thumbs up from me.

    ..St.Nicks Killer side Oiler....

    Thanks Joe!

    DO IT!!!

    Yea!

Ha Ha..yes Dave..that's part of the plan.

    Saw it.... drool factor 10.

    ;)

    Rich.. check your PM'S

I did think of this..but.... it needs to be all Ford. If it was a pure race car...there would be no hesitation.

Texas and Oklahoma have the best rust free stuff.

    Thanks Malcolm!

Man..... that is SUPER Clean and Nice...and it has ALL thee hard to buy pieces!!..Please sit at the back of the bus for 3 stops.....

Thanks El C.... I promise never to drive to Taco Bell.

  5. Joe..just to avoid confusion amoung the non-Ford crowd, that's a basic Custom, not a 300. The 300 had the side trim all the way to the front fender...like Jeff's is now.

  6. Thats a great looking car Jeff!!! It will be a great sleeper!!I like the direction you want to go with it.I had a friend (passed away)that had a green and white one with a 406 and a stick that was done back in the day.I loved the front end and side trim on the 57 so much I bought a wagon.LOL
    Good luck keep us posted!!

Jeff,.... I would love to find another one. My Dad had one he bought new in 1957, He was a test driver for Ford, It was a test car that he broke in, He tagged the car and after testing it was transferred to the "resale Lot" for Ford employees... My Brother and I was shocked when we came home from school to see this red & white beauty sitting in the garage..... Later in life I ended up owning two of them,..... Love those cars !

(Sorry, don't mean to hyjack your thread, But the old 57 Ford Custom 300's are very special to me... Forgive this little detour down memory lane....)

My Brother Rick and I 1958 summer vacation at Higgins Lake, with Mom & Dads 57 in the background, with the car top carrier....

And one of mine about 20 some years ago, with my two sons....

  8. I personally like this idea on one of your first posts....shoot fire, Ford had FE's in 58.....sooooo, your's is "The Prototype"
    Kinda partial to them, btw

Thanks for clearing me up on the trim level.

  23. Of course you will also need a tweed jacket, fedora and a pipe to be incognito. Tip your hat,tap the pipe....and blow their doors off Ward Cleaver style.

Haha! Was looking at an old Jive-Bomber thread about the ten most beautiful cars of the '50s. So, this plan was hatched long ago!

That's a beauty car. I wouldn't change a thing on it, accept maybe a straight axle under it
