Vintage shots from days gone by!

Glad to see the Navy taking care of the Marines. Sea going bell hops

 

Over the years, I have hauled in and out of the restricted area known as the "Nevada Test Site". I've been to Mercury, north of Mercury approx. 75 miles as well as being to Tolicha Peak. Fords test site isn't near as spooky...

It's all those damn doorways going into Magic Mountain that appear out of no where

 

Is this the old Sherry's Drive In, out on US-92 just west of Daytona Beach?
There was another out there named Curley's as well way back when.

That looks like Lake County Florida and the car is heading back into
Volusia County heading east .If it is, it is either SR 44 or SR 40 .

It looks like you are the only one that answered my question,if you have any more old Pictures of the Daytona area post them as I want to see what it looked like many years ago.

 

Here is my High School , Mainland High . No AC , but we didn't know that we
were being abused . There have been two successive MHS's since then , and they are/were out near the Speedway . Great old building with an interior courtyard .
Only a very few boys had cars , but more had bikes as you see .

 

My mother and my Grandmother used to go there quite often back in the day. I'll have to post some pics taken inside by their photographer.

 

Just when you think this thread could not get any better along comes better still.

Great photographs, some are just pure intrigue.
