Thought I'd post this, as alot of americans have probably never seen one, this '50 Meteor turned up at the local cruise night tonight. Ford body with a merc like grill. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
That's my old car. I built it from the frame up about ten years ago. Sold it to finance a deuce tudor I had. That grill is stock for a '50 Meteor. It was an old race car from Mission raceway in the sixties with a nailhead Buick in it. Was stored away for many years in a collection of shoebox coupes, I bought two of them.
Which cruise night was that? It doesn't looks like the ones in Richmond or Maple Ridge which as the only Thursday ones i'm aware of. Here's my 61 Meteor, last of the actual Meteors before they became a Merc. By the way that "49 Merc" is really a Monarch for brand. Sold at Ford dealers.... perhaps Fogg Ford Monarch which didn't sell Mercurys. My wagon would have been sold at a Mercury dealer.
It's a work in progress........he is going to put one of those fiberglass kits on it to make it look like a 50 Ford. Don
Tom, every Thursday at the A&W in Newton. Its pretty small, maybe 20/30 cars, but my wifes salon is a block away, and its a fun night out for my daughter and I. We usually drop in there, grab a bite then head over to my wifes business. She closes at 8, so it works out perfect. Wheres the Richmond one held? How big is it?
Doc, I love heading across the border to Bellingham WA. Its fun to go to the Wal-Mart and check out all the 300 lb orcas with the low rider sweat pants and the ass tattoos... (insert vomit smilie here)
My daughter asked me to lift her up, so she could look inside and see the interior. DNA test is pending...
man, it is SO HARD to raise kids right. They are surrounded by tempation and bad influences. I tried to get her to look at the Meteor, a '36 five window, a bb 4-speed El-Camino, all she wants to look at is the Cordoba with the cry-baby doll, a portable stop-sign, and a freakin eighties Cougar...
