Glad you decided to "go through it" to fix up those little things that need it. Are you back on the road yet?..is that lift in your garage?.. or is that a shop somewhere... Saw that you've been over to the "Sandie's" get together.. I keep forgetting to come by on Friday afternoons... Thanks for the tip of the hat on my shoebox. I live at the base of Mansfield Dam... stop by sometime and we'll tip a cold one...
Still being worked on at a local shop hopefully done by next week , I also take my other cars too sandy too and there is a new gathering at the oasis every month nice ride we'll catch up Posted from Ar
Some of the work being done , the engine & transmission is finally back in and these are the parts left too do.
When the 75 Deuces for the 75th anniversary were shown at the GNRS, there was a baby blue roadster, looks like Austin's. Took a while to find it. Same color, white walls, hubcaps, but has a Caddy engine. As I recall, it was from the right coast somewhere. Couldn't find info on it though, just a picture.
This was the color it was painted in the late fifties/ early sixties any ideas on the color, plus you can see the green under that of the original paint
If you get a chance, pop some Olds Fiesta caps (the ones with the small tri-bar spinners) on those red wheels and I've got a feeling you will say "DONE" Frank
Reminds me of this car shot taken in Stamford CT 1960. Caddy powered roadster owned by Bogie (Black Road Auto Club) Only yours looks better
If you are referring to the mouting plate on top of the frame rail, thats pretty much the way it was done on channeled cars.
Titian red? Looks a bit "copperish", which would lead me in that direction. VERY popular color on hot rods at that time.
PLEASE, reconsider changing anything. It's beautiful as is AND it's a time machine. Whether you want the title or not YOU are the keeper of an artifact. Don't destroy it. If you insist, sell it to someone who will care for it. THen go get yourself whatever you want, but make it a recent build. You arew a very lucky guy, hot rod-wise.
It was the Tommy Foster Roadster, lighter blue, Tommy is from Pontiac Michigan. Dick Munns owns the car and he flew Tommy out for the show. It was very cool.
That old paint may be Honduras Maroon, I've got a gallon left over from an old project if you are interested. Bob
