Had several of them at one time, my friend payed $700 for a pair for his sixty midget in maybe 1951. Guess they were always expensive. Still have an adapter left.

love reading that kind of stuff
The heads don't do it for me
    I like this place http://www.montereyspeedandsport.com/
It all seems a lot of money not to go fast but think they are great motors
What power should i get from a worked on block, dual carbs and 304 stroker kit all set up on a crisp cold day ,what heads compression is workable?I see heads from 8.5:1 to 10.5:1
    thanks

That engine is a pretty good deal!! I've seen the Federal Mogul split heads for the 24-studs, but never 21-studs. The magneto along is worth a couple grand and those carbs and adapters pull a nice mint. It's a lot of money for a 21-stud, but a good price if that's what you're building.

  8. Interesting, I have a late 40's Norden cowl steering gear that I'm mounting in my 30' Chrysler coupe project. The asking price for that motor set up seems very reasonable!
