This past weekend I went to help my father-in-law and his friends pick up a 1941 2-door Sedan that he recently purchased. The car has been parked in this barn since 1961. The previous owner got the car from his uncle when he was 16. He went on to put a 48 Merc Flathead and a 39 floor shift transmission. He recalls putting this primer job on it and painting the firewall white because that was what the kids were doing at the time. Here are some pictures of picking it up. A special thanks goes out to Chris, John, Mike, Terry, and Brian for helping Dave get this car home.

The previous owners son bought the house from him 8 or so years ago and uses the garage for other storage. The car had never moved from that spot since 1961.

I would have to agree with you. 41 was about the ugliest ford created, but it grows on you. With some different wheels, tires and a bath it will be a pretty cool car.

  11. I guess I am in the minority; I have always really liked the '41 front end.

Mike (mprice on the hamb) showed up to help us driving his Deuce Sedan. Mike just got this car running the night before.

Dave just got his Deuce 3-Window back on the ground yesterday for the first time in 7 or 8 years. He is trying to get it running and driving for Victoria this coming weekend along with Mike trying to get his Sedan ready. Here is a shot of the 3-Window with the 41 in the background.

  14. Me too; the '41 had a style all it's own and has always been one of my favorites. The turn signals perched on top of the fenders need to go away, but other than that it's great design.

When I was 16, a 'older' (20?) guy had a coupe with an early Olds motor, slammed to the ground with chrome reverse/baby moons/wide whites, mild chop, and black lacquer paint; I still remember that car vividly and it was one of the coolest cars I've ever seen...

Thanks for the pictures Chris! Sam was telling Dave and I about your 41 Sedan but we were having a hard time finding pictures of it. Love the stance of this sedan!

Thanks Larry but Dave was already planning ahead on this car and got 3 n.o.s. grilles on ebay.

Yeah--but the 4drs of the 40's (1940 Fords in particular) have some great features too. Like big back seats; you get my meaning.

Man I miss my '41 sedan.

  27. '41 was always my favorite of the '41-'48 body style. Great find, looks like a pretty solid old car, shouldn't take too much to get it driveable.

  28. thats a cool find and a cool look to it ....

Love the 41 front.... I can look to my left and see mine "out the window" sitting and rotting under the pine tree . I got mine when I was 14 and fkd up by moving on to a 62 Fairlane , I left the 41 parked ... and now it has been reminding me how stupid kids can be !! Im now 55 yrs dumb.

It's not that I hate a 41. It's just not as cool as a 40 nose. I think majority of people would take a 40 over a 41. It looks really bitchin in the driveway right now though!
