My 31 pontiac finally came home from the fab shop yesterday. There is still a lot to do before its on the road but I am reenergized about this project
Looks GREAT! I love the stance, it's dead on. I always wanted to rod mine out, but mine was too nice of a stocker to cut up. Looking forward to seeing the rest of this build!
Here's the original insert it's too tall I have some stainless steel mesh that's the same as the original in size
Engine is a 69 pontiac OHC6 250" .030 over ported head H cam with a sidedraft intake and 3 webber Dcoe carbs
Paint may be put off untill next year next step is to pull the body strip the frame paint it and put it all back together get the drivetrain in then put the body back on and get it running and driving. It will definatly get paint but for now I will blast it hit it with a DA and then shoot some Eastwood diamond clear on it personally I don't like patina
Absolutely fantastic project. I say that in part because it's not the normal ModelA/chopped 16"/channeled 10" and rust holes big enough to drive through with tires above the deck lid. I'm especially impressed with your power plant. I had a '66 Lemans Sprint with the OHC 6 and a quadrjet/ 4sd (factory built) that could run the pants of any 283 and a lot of 327's. Hope you intend to make it a nicely finished car with a good paint job and interior.................it deserves no less. Frank
I should be getting about 280 hp at the rear wheels I am running a Muncie m20. I had hoped to have paint and interior this year but build costs got a little out of control so it will probably be next year. I like finished cars but can live with a car in project mode for a little while the only thing I'm not sure about is is I want the frame black or body color shock will be some shade of blue either lemans blue which is lighter or nocturnal blue which is almost black
I like everything about your car and the straight 6 fits just right IMO. How much did you take out of the top?
Cool car! I've been watching it get built over at Jesse's for the past year. It's really going to be cool with the Tempest engine. Good luck.
