Hey guys starting my new project over the winter. After selling my Traditional Model A pick up a month back, i got the urge to build another falcon. Originally i had a 1961 falcon futura, my first car, and i wanted to get back into another. she is a 1963 futura hardtop no post, Has a 200 inline six, 2 speed on the column, msd electronic ignition, and header. 14 inch mustang wheels, with baby moons and trim rings. the body is pretty solid, Gas tank and emblems have been shaved off. Always loved the look of these little cars. i will post more pictures when i update the thread.

    Nice ride, I love it.

    I'll be watching for updates!

I plan to bag and shave mine over the winter also. Good luck!

How is the rear set-up? Does that have leafs? If so how do you plan on bagging the rear?

The rear has a custom 2 pack leaf spring, but that will be switched to a 2 or 4 link as i do not like the stress it puts on the leafs when the bags are fully deflated. the bags are mounted behind the rear end and there is a bar across the trunk welded in for the top mount. can wait to get some more done. looking to do a full 70's style custom . love the no post!

I agree with switching the rear setup. I plan on doing a triangulated 4-link and I'm interested to see how other people with similar cars do theirs.

I'm pretty much going in the same direction with my car.

    Like I said....I'll be watching!

I'm not sure what you mean by 2x4 bumper, but if you are looking to swap it out, take a look at the "Falcons done right" thread. Somewhere to the begining of the thread is a disscussion about bumper swaps with a couple of good ideas shown.

If I remember correctly, there was another 63 (maybe 62, I'd have to find a photo) Falcon that went to an import show up in Mass last spring that was all shaved and in black primer with some Hella 500 fog lights hanging below the bumper...it'd be cool to see the two of them together, seeing as they're both from roughly the same region!

BTW that's a Brian Stupski (from Problem Child Kustoms) illustration of that falcon.

This looks like a '62-'63 Mercury Meteor front bumper.

The Meteor bumper is wider as it was the "mid size" car. A 62-63 Comet bumer is the same as the one pictured except it doesnt drop down on top to clear the australian falcon headlamp bezels, so it would work just fine on a 62-63 Falcon, you just need the brackets from a Comet.
