I bought the car from my friend, Richard Zocchi in 1999 and and restored it. I also finished the engine compartment. I kept it "Period Perfect". Any changes that I did were approved by Rich. The photo is from a KKOA event from 2001. The guy I sold the car to in Michigan changed the wheels and tires to "Awful Ugly" and obviously does not know anything about Kustoms. Gary L. Birns
* I did not put these ugly wheels & tires on this kustom. The person I sold it to did it.!!!! Gary L. Birns
It would be one thing to start out with those hideous wheels, but to change from the perfect look of whitewalls and caps to those things is awful! I hope it eventually goes to a person who will change it back, the wheels definately kill the car... for me at least.
Those wheels are actually pretty rare...they were purchased from Warner Bros. Studios in 2000, then anodized and chromed. They were 'take-offs' from the Ben Hur chariots...
What kind of ghetto shit is that? Vogues and chrome crystals on a beautiful custom? I hope you guys are right and this big wheel thing is just a phase. Sadly, I don't think it is.
If you log on to CHOP 57 and go to View Pubic Profile you will see my newest Kustom "COOL 64" . You will also see more photos of the 57 Buick.
The owner is from Taylor. That explains A Lot. Lucky it doesnt have hydraulics and a trunk full of speakers. (I grew up there, and left, for a reason)
Yea, jus cause you lives in mid town don't means ya gots ta ak like it. I don't think I would stress too much over the wheels on someone elses car and if it were mine I wouldn't stress to much either, wheels are an easy fix. I personally think it would be thhe bomb with small window halibrands and spinners. It was a very nice car when Richard owned it, he has vision. It wouldn't take much to make it nice again at least if it is still as nice as the pic shows it is. Some with cash in his chinos should own that car.
Because they know some idiot will buy them. The big ugly wheels are the pop music of the aftermarket wheel world. -W
Richard was Just kiddin. Because what's wrong w/ hydraulics exactley? last time i checked kustoms have been juiced since '57. And Lowriders have carried the torch for kustom cars all the way from the 70s to their "rebirth" in the 90s. Some of you guys are a little too fast w/ your bad ass comments.

*Rikster...This photo was taken in 2001 in Hamilton, Ohio at a KKOA event. When I bought this car from Rich in 1999, I totally restored it and finished off the engine..... You know my cars and I would NEVER put those "God ugly" wheels and tires on ANY car. The person I sold it to did all the "damage", NOT me.!
I recently saw my old 57 Buick at the Goodguys show in July at the Columbus show. I wanted to cry, The car was in really bad condition. The car was soooooooooo bad I didn't want my son to see it! It is amazing how a Kustom that won the Sam Barris Memorial Award could be treated this way!!!!! The Wheels & Tires are only the start. The car's interior, which is now leather looks like some one slept in it. I am sure that it has not seen a garage since I sold it over 10 years ago. The car is for sale & the owner wants $60,000. I offered him $25,000. & I think that was too much.
** AGAIN, I SOLD THIS AWESOME ZOCCHI BUILT KUSTOM IN 2003 & DID NOT PUT ON THOSE UGLY ASS WHEELS & TIRES!!! I SAW THE CAR AT THE 2012 COLUMBUS GOODGUYS SHOW & COULD NOT BELIEVE THE WAY THIS ONCE FINE LOOKING KUSTOM LOOKED. **In 1990 THIS CAR WON THE SAM BARRIS MEMORIAL AWARD AT THE SACRAMENTO AUTORAMA.**
