BTW, if anyone has a "support your local fuzz" decal as above... PM me. I'm all over it.

Ryan, I never took you as a Roth fan.
Thanks for the link, now I will waste more time at work :)

Roth wasn't always so supportive of law enforcement. Especially in his chopper days.

  10. Was a huge fan of the Fink as a kid in the 60's. I had models, key chains, decals ... all gone now. Luckily thanks to people like Muttley and a few other board members Ive been able to purchase a lot of the old Roth decals.

The man was a legendary talent. Some of his messages are a little screwed and contradictory, but perhaps they were a reflection of the times or what sold.

Remember the Williams cartoons advertising Roth in the Car Crafts of the '64 period??
The pinheaded trailer trash guy beating up the mail man because his Roth catalog was late, the bizarre castles and barbarians and Prince Valiant...
Someday I'm going to copy my favorite detail from those: Stenciled line across front og garage floor, "No Peasants Past Line" stenciled in big letters...
Sometimes the Roth ad was the best thing in a pretty good magazine!

    Love this stuff.

My favorite may have been the decals he did for the 173rd Airborne "When we rain death...it's always fair weather!"

  16. RAD! I have a couple of those. just waiting for the right projects.

Really cool stuff and a very create person for sure.

I have always been a fan of Larry "Monte" Monteverde, Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelly just to name a few because these guy's really had an impact with their images and designs.

The Roach Studio folks were also real trail blazers over the years and god knows how many tee shirts they made and sold over all those years.

Always dug Roth's stuff, as demented and conflicted as he obviously was...

I was looking over the Rat Fink stuff at a vender at the G Guys. A nice young man was helping me, and several times refered to "Dad". I asked who?? "Dad....Ed my dad is Ed Roth he said". Wow, so i asked him some questions about growing up Roth. He was very insightfull. I hope that a second generation Roth can make it in this world!!

  21. Only one person has seen my Roth collection,my wife. I started collecting when I was a kid,not off ebay, like many do now. Have only parted with one piece in my lifetime, and that was a ceramic Roth coffee mug,the only one in existance,to Darryl Roth for helping my parents. He has the largest "original" Roth collection there is. Second largest being mine.
I'm sure my wife will sell it when I die, haha.
BTW Ryan,I have a few of those Fuzz decals.

Muttley trades in these and other vintage automotive decals, he's very good to deal with.

I worked for Roth for a few months... Never did get paid... And that's my only real Roth story.
