Looking for ideas on 11.00 x 29.5 slicks that i can run on the Coupe . I need to be able to race 'em , at least on the local nhra track , so strip legal . Preferably something old time looking . I have ET Drags on it now , ok to roll around in the shop , but too modern looking . Ideas ?? Thanks
My car had M&H on it originally , but I didn't see 11 x 29.5 offered any longer. They would definitely be my first choice Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
If you're not dead sett on the 29.5 diameter, the M&H 325-50-15 is 11.5"x28"x15". That's probably as close as you'll get in a tire you can run on the street/strip, and not be so flimsy that it wont hold up to much street use. When I bought my M&H tires I called them, and they were very helpful. They steered me away from the DOT legal slicks, as they said they're really not designed for much street use, and just DOT legal to meet NHRA rules for classes that require the DOT approval. I ended up with drag radials, and they surprised me at how well they hook up. If you call the M&H West Coast warehouse and talk to John in sales; he'll give you the hotrodder's discount, and save you some bucks over ordering from the internet stores.
Ya , im kinda stuck on the 29.5 , i run 5.13 gears in the 57 olds rear end , plus the fenders are radiused so need to be "filled" . I may be able to go to 10 wide if that will keep me in the 29.5 range
Look at these http://www.radirwheels.com/slicks.htm http://www.towelcityracingtires.com/Pie_Crust_Cheater_Slicks.html http://www.hurstracingtires.com/ http://www.cokertire.com/popular-tire-applications/drag-race/firestone-cheater-slicks.html It looks like you will have to call Hurst as they are updating their website. Towel city has the exact size you are looking for.
I think 29.5 X 10.5 is a pretty common size for slicks. That's what I'm looking at for the Anglia right now.
