I'm in the process of putting my 49 b1b on a 95 Dakota chassis keeping the v6 and od tranny. I'm keeping the v6 beings it runs and also to do something a little different from what I've seen. It'll mostly be used for cruising. I've been looking at some of the build threads and have gotten lots of insight. My struggle currently is that I'm keeping the Dakota firewall and floor pan as original was shot and I'm looking for a floor shifter and column that doesn't have shift lever on it. Open to all suggestions. Thanks Matt Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Welcome! I have seen a lot of dakota conversions done and have some pointers. for the steering column I would go this route > start at 7:15 I know its a 57 but same idea. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QqeTaa8bZ3A <iframe width="640" height="360" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/QqeTaa8bZ3A?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> and for floor shifter conversions there are many ways to do this, here are some ideas on another forum> http://www.customdakotas.com/forums/styling-mods/7050-floor-shifter.html
