I have seen a number of the guys here in Florida who went to HomeDepot for one hour and came home to find their race trailer with the car inside gone from behind their home. The trailer was chained to part of the house!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The new race trailer has more LoJacks and other security systems hidden inside of it and the race car also has a few. I know a few guys who go to the Shades of the Past show in Tn.who sleep in the trailer with the car and refuse to go into a motel while they are there. Motels with security guards at the gate for the parking lot have been known to look the other way when muscle cars diapered right out of the secured parking area. It's a wild world out there!!!!!!! If someone wants what you got they will find a way. I just go with making it harder than moving on to something easier. Guess that wasn't enough this time.
Had a flat bed trailer stolen once . . . . . , 7,000 lbs of gravel in it for two years, tires were flat, tail of the trailer sunk 6" into the ground. Gone without a trace!! No tire marks or dirt or anything!!! Figured they pulled it onto a rollback wrecker. NOBODY ever questions a wrecker hooking onto anything!! Good luck finding it, K
Talked to insurance guy today. Homeowners covers trailers all the way up to $500 bucks. Woohoo, only about 7k short. I hate insurance companys almost as much as thieves.
Many insurance companies don't cover trailer at ALL under home owners and if they do it's just the little utility type, hence the $500.00 I know with Allstate they told us that trailers are no different then cars and need their own insurance, so I have a separate policy for both my Race Car trailer and the Horse trailer. They also said there was a lot of fraud with people claiming they had a high buck trailer when they had a Home Depot special.
I lost a trailer 20 years ago, found out the x sold it as is.no paperwork/stated she need $$ for our kids.
Sorry to hear it, man! I saw one heading south on 680 at 5:45 today in Walnut Creek, but it was a single axle, I think. Didn't really register until it was past me. Being towed by an S.U.V. That's all I remember in that flash of clarity. Didn't seem tall either, but it was maroon with diamond plating.
Bump so people will still be on the look out. Working for what we like to play with gets hard when a thief can take so much in so little time.
Got a call from the sheriff and they found it at some well known d-bag, meth heads house. Only some minor damage where they scraped some trees somewhere. But the best part was my Pontiac was still strapped down inside. Thanks everyone for keeping an eye out.
Glad you got it back. Just a FYI,......I have my 36' enclosed gooseneck insured with State Farm.....27.00 every 6 mos. That's just for collision and comp. Liability follows the tow vehicle. Stu
