Looking to install Disc brakes on my 57 F100 Beater. Been looking at Speedway and CPP. Does anyone have any experiences with either- Good or Bad? Any other suggestions appreciated. Berzerk
I put ~'74 spindles and discs on my '66. Rumor said kingpin locks were in different spot but mine weren't. I also grabbed the dual MC. One pushrod was too short and other too long so shortened it and rounded end.
I have installed discs on 65 and newer. you just match the king pin to the axle. I have thought about doing it to the 64 and earlyer but have not tried it yet. The important part is the king pin angle and size. 65-79 twin-I-beam stuff is interchangeable but don't know if it will interchange with straight axle. Try it and let us know. The other option is to use the 70's Ford rotors and make a caliper bracket that uses gm calipers or maybe someone makes the bracket already. Try it and let us know. Jim (55willys)

The kit I ordered from Speedway was a CPP kit. Mine is a 51 F1 axle so it might be a little different but I had to make a 1/8 spacer to put behind the bearing adapter. By the time I went to adjust the wheel bearings I could not get it tight enough because of the length was too long. It could not be adjusted any tighter and the bearings were loose. I went with the 4 3/4 bp kit and changed the bearing races like the directions say. Never got an email reply from cpp, maybe because I got it from speedway?
I really liked the kit from American Brake and Steering. Also check out a place called Bob's F1s. Bob is here in social, and he is a super great and knowledgeable guy.
