I know what you mean I have full intentions I'm just a design student right now and funds and time are tight. Once all that stuff clears I plan on it I tell her all the time about how I am going to letter "Just married" on the decklid of my '56 in One Shot as well

Not trying to start a pissing match, but all the people saying ol lady is a derogatory term. Explain to me why you think so. It isnt said to be disrespectful. I use it and my ol lady says my ol man. I had the conversation with my mother in-law, as she hated it also. You should have seen her face when she came down to visit and seen my ol ladys " Property of ******** **** " patch on her shirt . ( MC club )

 

Mine sounds the same but her animal thing is out of control. 24 donkeys and 50 goats and a herd of dogs and cats.

Also not trying to be argumentative, but, like the saying goes, "if it has to be explained, you probably wouldn't get it". Maybe it's a generational thing, but I think it's insulting and derogatory. In any event, it's up to you and your wife and nobody else's business.

 

My ol' squeeze is a good sport... She calls me her old man...

 

I've been around the block a few times and at one time was heavy into motorcycles (Harleys) back in the early 70's and rode with some guys that were less than good role models,,so I have heard the term "OL LADY" used extensively.

Personally,I don't care for the term,I never did and I believe a lot of us old graybeards fell the same way,,I do however call my wife grandma. HRP
