Does anyone know if there is a difference between the 1962 and 1963 Cadillac 390? I am looking to put a 390 in one of my vehicles and i don't want to buy the wrong one.

I would not recommend a 1963 motor. Totally different than the 62 and earlier. Lots of 1 year only stuff. Basically the predecessor to the 429 engine.

Would recommend the 1960-62 390 as they had a provision for a "spin on" oil filter.

'62 390- Last of the early motors. They're pretty. '63 390 First (kinda hybrid) of the next gen. They're not as pretty.

Quick guide to tell the difference. The distributer is in the back on the early motors. On the front '63 up..
