National Speedway/Long Island Reunion Update 02/12/13: The Reunion will take place on Saturday evening, July 27 and Sunday, July 28 at Old Bridge Twp. Raceway Park. The event will feature a display of cars that raced at the Long Island drag strips, an awards presentation honoring Long Islands speed industry legends and prominent drag racers and teams. Originally scheduled for the 1/8th mile strip, early feed back indicates the need for more space so we will be using and will be racing on the 1/4 mile track! We are currently looking for display cars that have raced at any one of the fabled Long Island tracks. Period correct street cars and hot rods may also be accepted. Display car owners will get free two day admission for two. Vendors are also sought for this two day event. Contact Walter Frey at: [email protected].
Sounds good, planning to be there, Jack Olcott had mentioned it.What are the classes and rules any Idea.
Bracket racing! Saturday evening will require street legal exhaust. The plan is to have replica National Speedway trophies for the winners and runner ups. Sunday will allow open exhaust, no electronics at all, "period correct" look for National Speedway bracket. Hampton bracket will allow more modern cars and electronics. All plans subject to change by July! WF

Of course, you can race it! You may even find someone that knows the car's history. Have any pictures of it as it looks today? WF
Just a reminder! We are on track for a great event! Still looking for cars to display. Free tickets for the right cars!
Just a month away! Still have some room for display cars. If you have something that raced on L.I. through 1980 we'd love to see it there. WF
Yeah, a lot of our old cars are gone. Unfortunately, so are many drivers! We do have some really cool surprises (display cars) for those that do attend! WF
