Finally got me a F1 she's a little rough but she's all there just needs a starter to see if it will run and then make sure it will stop. I'm so ready to go for a drive.:D

If the 215 is toast for some reason you can always use a 223. There are vintage speed parts available for the early ohv Ford 6s.

Thanks, I thought it was also. My plan is to get the 215 running get it back on the road and drive, drive, drive:D Like to lower it a little. don't want to get too deep into it yet, get it road worthy and then down the road tear it down.

Nice find. They weren't my favorite year, the 48-50s were, but, they kind of grow on you after awhile. I myself had 2 '49s over the years. I do like the dash, you can two-tone them easily. Also a guy in my area has one where he took the teeth out of the grill, leaving just the horizontal bar going across. I must admit, it looked good.

Still looking for a starter found one at Macs just hate to spend that much for a starter plus core charge. Don't know anything about the 215 engine the PO said it ran but who knows. I have a 302 I pulled out of my 69 mustang I know its good to go may just spend my money there.

  27. How did the engine install go for you? any clearance issues with the steering box? I've read where guys have to move the engine over towards the passenger side a little.

    Hey Rockabillykat
I did install the engine slightly toward the passenger side not very much though. The engine looks centered by just looking at it. I did have some problems finding a exhaust manifold that would fit around the steering box. Wasn't a very hard install everything kinda fell in place.
I have alot of pics of the install if needed.
