posted this in the wrong board so here goes again...

This is something I tried, to see if it would work and was quite happy with the results.
Maybe you guys have something to add

Two Denture Cleaning tablets in a half a soup can of warm water.
I put an old signal light lens in to see what would happen.
I then forgot about it for a week until I went past that end of the bench again and pulled it out
    This is what I got.

I don't know what CLR will do to 50 yr old plastic which is why I wanted to try this.

Was the whole thing in the can or just the "white' end?

Just plop your chops in the can with the lens and you get a twofer. Stu

So, if we drop the whole car into a large vat filled with denture cleaner and leave it for a week it will be kissably fresh and clean?:D
Some of these ideas are great for small parts.

You can see the line through the centre where it was in the water.
It was standing on end in the can.

Yah you guys have dated yourselves!
I thought I was old getting the "You'll wonder where the yellow went...."
But what's that powder thing about?

Hilarious. I can picture my nutty mother-in-law walking around with a couple blinker lenses in her mouth.

    Hey Watch it!
I'd say stick it where the sun don't shine but I think that's in the instructions already....

And besides - Everybody knows to use K-Y for bearings!!!
