On my 58 f100, brake and clutch master cylinders appear to be the same, i am going to a dual pot power assist for the brakes but for the clutch side should i rebuild it or just replace with new? mine is leaking. i have done master cylinders on motorcycles before so a rebuild shouldnt be bad, just wondered if there was any reason i should opt for new instead. thanks.

rebuild if it is not pitted from rust inside the bore, otherwise go new

Make sure that only the brake cylinder has a check valve, clutch cylinders do not use one. A Google search will show you what I am talking about.

  4. On the one that I had the clutch master cyl. was 1" and the brakes were 1 1/8", I rebuilt mine with no problems. The clutch cyl. has a spring without the valve at the end
