I emailed the PGR leadership about having classic car/truck clubs join us, and got this response, do you feel like honoring our veterans and KIA by escorting the funeral procession, then standing a flag line at the cemetery? I know a lot of you are veterans or Patriots that appreciate our Veterans.

We're escorting a KIA today in Pensacola, and those bastard Westboro Baptist Church loonies are rumored to be in town, haven't had a mission with them yet, our plan is to drown them out with Harley noise.

Oh, a cage is biker slang for a car. We usually have a pickup truck that pulls a small trailer that holds our flags and a water cooler. All you need to do is send your email to your State Captain (www.patriotguard.org) to get put on the mailing list of upcoming missions, and attend any that you can make, be sure and bring your handkerchief, it always gets me when they play Taps.

Veterans, thank you for your service! OK, I have an idea that is out of the box, a paradigm shift if you will, we need to invite classic car/truck clubs to help us escort our heroes and stand a flag line for them, not everyone rides a bike, we have cages that have attended by former members that can't ride anymore, I attended a funeral of a Vet that had several collector car buddies bring their collector cars behind us on the escort to the cemetery. I'm sure they would be happy to escort and stand a flag line with us for our heroes, what do you think? We may have to change our name to PG Riders and Cruisers, PGR&C, we all stand for those who stood for us, or just keep the name with them involved.

Actually I've participated with car groups already joining in our mission in the High Plains Region. Maybe we need to advertise the part "We don’t care what you ride or if you ride" so everyone is aware we welcome "cagers" to join us. We have even had a Regional Captain to didn't own a motorcycle.

  8. Just this note because not everybody knows--the Westboro Baptist Church folks are not representative of Baptists generally. I'm an ordained Baptist minister, served as a pastor for 24 years. 99.999% of Baptists would repudiate the Westboro bunch. Nobody has exclusive rights to the Baptist name, anyone can start a church and call it Baptist. There are about 100 different Baptist bodies in the US, and many churches not affiliated with any national Baptist organization. Westboro does not belong to any Baptist denominational body. All the Baptists I know cringe every time that bunch uses the Baptist name.

There's a bunch of stuff I'd love to say about WBC but I don't want to get this important thread shut down.

Thank you Patriot Guard, for countering insanity with calm dignity.

Eagles's Talon motorcycle accessories/clothing shop has Patriot Guard decals, and you can also buy them from the PGR website.

Sorry I didn't respond about the time of the service, we left soon after I posted about it, I should have given a link the the PGR thread.
