I love my little Falcon, Lots of custom potential. Mine has enlarged rear wheel wells(easier to change tires), extended funtional scoop, rolled pans front and rear, custom bumpers, grill, lights, and yes it would look better lowered but this is my daily driver, even in the snow. And Idaho roads are not the best, and I do haul parts in it.

My favorites would be the Tempests. The 1961 has the 1959 styled grill (if only if came with 1959 fins) and the 1962 has a unique front that sets it off and doesn't look Pontiac. If I had one I would want some GTO/Firebird styled tail lights.

Also like the Lark Wagonaire and '60 Comet. An Edsel Comet conversion would be neat as well.

Someone tried to start a thread on custom compacts, but it died. I posted this there. Plenty of guys were messing with compacts 'back in the day'

Here are a couple of pics of my 63 Skylark, plan on driving it the summer if all goes well. Trying to emulate the Bellflower look.

How did I miss this? Here's mine! 1962 Buick Special that has come a long way but still has a long way to go.

Dad had a '61 Tempest wagon in the '70's...he liked it enough to pull the 4-banger and rebuild it, and have the car painted. It had a 3-speed stick. I drove it 1-2X, then he sold or traded it.

My philosophy of customizing is to start with a good looking car in the first place...not what you might have laying around.

There's only one early compact that qualifies as good looking to start with......and it looks so good it doesn't need much. The ultimate complement...it looks Italian.

Thanks! I don't know what I will do for paint, I have changed my mind a hundred times. As of now the whole car is in primer. Hoping to get some kind of color on it after the summer.

Different taste, I guess. It's only an opinion.

Early sixties compacts are for freaks and spazzes.
