i gave my cousin some 40-48 ford car brakes to use on his roadster but im missing the front hubs. would like to know what i need to be looking for. thanks
Look inside the drum and see if the hub was on the inside. By the looks of the backing plate they are 46-48
looks like the hub was on the outside. there is raised up areas around the lug stud holes dont look like a hub could have fit inside.
wow figured asking on the hamb would have gave me all the info i needed to know in 5 mins lol but i still dont know much
Ok, here is what they are telling you. Those are 42-48 backing plates. Ford used two hub designs, one went inside the drum and the other went outside the drum. You need to look inside your drums to see if it looks like there are indications a hub was once inside there. I think the outside ones were used 46-48 but I have had those years with inside hubs too. Don
If you need some hubs/drums I have a set that I won't be using, fresh turned, new shoes, backing plates and cylinders. You need to check those drums and see if they even have enough meat left to turn.
