Looks like a 33/4 Ford body with another company's fenders hood etc.

  6. I tend to agree with Bob,,33/34 Ford Body.

The hood is hard to peg as is the grill. HRP

I think it is the 1934 Hupmobile standard 6. Is this the model that used Ford four door sedan bodies?

Great looking car which appears to be very solid, nice find.

The grille and hood seem to blend perfectly onto that 34 ford looking body. I don't know 34 bodies that well. I would tend to think its something other than a ford.
I am sure someone here knows.

I see a similarity to a 33/34 but believe that it is a 34 Plymouth. I stand corrected Hupmobile

You guys are slipping, took you almost 15 minutes to identify an obscure old car, what's up with that. We need a faster response time. LOL

Yes Hup. The frame on those is huge compared to a Ford. Maybe 5"-6" high.

As others have said, '34 Hupmobile. It's a Series W-517 sedan. Really unique how the running board and front fender meet.

Here's a restored one (you'll have to scroll down)

I was so close to owning one of these once I could taste it. Someone nabbed it out from under me just as it touched my lips. I think I missed it by about 10 minutes when I went to borrow money from my dad.

What's with all of those head bolts?
I'm trying to picture the size of the cylinders from the location of the spark plugs and something looks weird.
Maybe some of them don't go through to the block.

...or is this post going to embarrass me somehow....

Hup there's one for sale here in Connecticut

  28. A Packard grille is very unique and instantly recognizable. As been pointed out by many, Hupmobile it is.

  29. I never knew that Hup used Ford bodies! Pretty wild. So do you think that Hup bought them through Henry or directly from Murray? Just curious if Henry took a percentage.:)...........Don.
