Elvern was way ahead of the times when the car was built.......Detailed to the Max before anyone knew what detailing was.......and it was right there as far as speed went also.......Glad to see the car ended up with some one who appreciated what he had!!!!..........Great Job!!!.......Elvern and Scotty would be "Proud" of your efforts....

Thank you! The car was "best engineered" in the 60's. We wanted to keep with that and do some engineering and new details but keep the car as close to 1964 as we could. We wanted to honor them with this build.

If you would like to check out LMR website to see more on this build, other builds and learn more about the parts and shop, you can visit http://www.lo-manrods.com.

Mac Nicewander and team completed both the Rockne and Willys for me. From installations, paint and body, to one off complete builds - they can accomplish it all. I do not work for them - just support them and what they do.

You can also check some of the builds, etc at the upcoming Columbus Goodguys show. They will be set up outside this year. The Willys will be in their booth some along with other cars.

The last piece of the puzzle is coming together this week. LMR is making a cover for the batteries and the fuel lines in the trunk. Fabrication has begun. Pictures is the mock up stage. Tim will have this piece in multiple sections and matching straps made as the gas tank has. Everything should be wrapped up for Columbus Goodguys.

It was great to meet several people and show the car in Bowling Green recently. We look forward to meeting more of you in Columbus in just a few weeks.

Stop by the LMR (Lo Man Rods) booth and pick up a shirt of this car and others. Their shirts are only $10 and have very cool designs.

Thank you for the compliment. We planned the build for 3 years when I bought the car and really had a game plan going into it for the next 3 years that we ended completing it. The shop did a great job in keeping everything consistent with the theme of the car and trying to get everything close to the way it was back in the 60's. We wanted to be creative and engineer a lot of items since the car was "Best Engineered" in 1964.

I really cannot say enough about Mac and the team at LMR. This is the second car they have done for me. They have become friends and I would trust them with any type of build. Again, I do not work for them, but think they deserve the compliments.

The final pieces are coming together. The battery boxes are being made now. The center section to cover the fuel lines are being made today. Some sanding and detail work done by tomorrow.

We look forward to sharing the completed car at the Columbus Goodguys show in 2 weekends.

It now looks period correct! The numbers, etc. are now on. 1964 again.

The last of the tin work. Battery covers and center cover for the fuel lines now in place. Just need brushed/sanded. Matching straps will be on the covers like the gas tank has.

Done and in the garage now. Time to detail, buff/wax and get ready for Columbus next week. My brother owns a detail shop and is coming over today to work his magic.

It was nice to meet many of you today and this weekend in Columbus. The car was chosen for a Street Rodder top 10 at the event today. Thank you to all that saw the car and expressed positive reactions. I will try to post more pictures when we return.

Columbus was great this past weekend. We had the Willys in the Lo Man Rods booth all day Friday and in the Builder's Choice area on Saturday. It was great to see and meet several people from this site on each day.

We were grateful to have been chosen Street Rodder Top 10. Attached are some pictures from this past weekend. It was also shot in front of the Aesthetic Finishers semi during an interview with the owner of the company. They are a great organization and did all the powder coating on the headers, complete chassis and more pieces. They were shooting it for the Lokar car show series on the Velocity Channel. I believe it should air in October?

Again, for those that are following this thread, thanks and it was nice meeting several of you. We hope to meet more in the months to come at future events.

We had the car at the US Nationals in Indy this weekend. It was an honor to have it chosen for the Bob Daniels Award this year. Attached are a few pictures.

Congratulations. Well deserved. I saw it at the Nationals in the mid '60s.

We recently had the car last weekend at the Shades of the Past show in Pigeon Forge, TN. It was great to meet several people there and share the car with others. We were excited that it was a TOP 25 Pick as well as chosen to be one of the cars on next year's t-shirts for the event. Very cool.
