    region rat,

I made it, well sort of. I started with a 2x4 Edelbrock large port intake, and a Dyers blower flange casting. Some time on my old worn out Bridgeport, some welding and viola a large port blower intake. I know it's not optimum being that I started with a dual plane intake, but after gutting it on the mill it should be ok.

    I'm also stan65 on 348-409.com.

1959 348 in my dad's '58 Chevy pickup. I has three Autolite two barrels on the factory 3 x 2 intake, 340 hp 409 cam, and a Mallory dual point. It runs awesome. This engine has a sound all it's own, a really nice power curve and it just looks cool. It has. TH-350 and a 3.25 geared 9" Ford rear end that is the perfect combo with a 30" tall tire.

I had a 2-4 409 motor in a 62 impala back in the 70's. Traded for another 2-4 motor in 77 and kept it till about 85 but never put it in anything. I just made a deal today for a running 65 truck engine and will pick it up tomorrow so am again a '09 owner.

I've got a 425-horse engine that's been apart since I bought it forever ago.
Have a set of high-dollar rods, an MSD ignition, a Rattler damper and a roller cam that'll eventually get put in the block with a stroker crank and good pistons.

I put a sign up wanting 348/409 parts in my swap meet booth and a guy sold me a 348 that runs for $300 and then put an ad on Craigslist and got a tri power intake for $100 and another tri power intake WITH original carbs for $200 and found a of Edelbrock boat headers on Craigslist in Cali for $150 shipped to me. It's going in a '31 Chevy sedan rat rod. Need to figure our what manual transmission and bell housing to use.
