Looks like Monroe 5621. May be 5821, Go to the Monroe PDF. I had to slice the rubber thinner to get the nut on

  5. I was wondering if stock shocks would still be ok. I had a set of nos shocks from ford i bought in the early 70's so i threw them in. They are not gas shocks thou so i'll see when i get it on the road.

Here's what I got for the Merc Moog CC850 coil springs. Monroe PN 5821 shocks, also saw PN 5751 mentioned.

Autozone has both Gabriel and KYB gas shocks,Gabriel 82026 $19.99 and KYB KG4503 $51.99 the same numbers fit 1949-56 Ford cars with Aerostars. Here is the kicker these numbers are the same as stock listings but I found when I removed the OEM shocks on the rear of my '54 I could not get the tire back on in the rear(stock wheels were OK) The replacements measured 1 1/2" to 1 3/4" shorter than the original Ford shocks.I had to add a Mr. Gasket 2" extension on the rears to solve my tire problem.
