Have a '52 , waiting for primer, it's all shiny, thanks for the insperation

  2. Love this truck! Yes, traditional, and the intake manifold/air cleaner combination, just right. Where did the bed lift hydraulics come from? I'd like to adapt that to an express bed on my AA. And is that a stock gas tank?

As for the stool, I'm with El Gordo. We're expecting restoration with your added workmanship.

That carb setup is the beans! Fits the whole truck wonderfully.

I'd be into it -- I dig the OE equipment that a lot of these cars came with, but I grew up with a dad that preferred to make things look the part while handling and going forward a bit more like modern hardware. Nothing wrong with it in my mind, just a part of the diverse mentality that makes the hot rod culture awesome.

BTW, do you hail from New Zealand?

    LOL!

You seem to chime in a lot, with this same line of crap.
Why not give it a rest?

thanks, but the stool legs are a goner (been repaired once already) now in scrape pile.....

dump bed: I got a used hydraulic cylinder from field mower, and other stuff from a old dodge (and jeep) with snow plows and made (copied the design) scissor system...

factory gas tank was behind bench seat. this one came out of a 4 cylinder jeep (fit like it belonged there)

If this truck isn't suited for this forum then 80% of what gets posted here should be banned. I'm thinking this is just as much a hot rod as a '32 pickup with a SBC.

I picked the color out of a book at the paint store, 99% sure it was a factory color of a 62ish Mercedes....

I hear that a lot, folks either like it or don't...... my roadster has a crazy pattern also, must be something from my teen years

Love your intake. I will probably steal that idea. After seeing more pictures, I like the truck even more. Have fun and keep us updated on the reincarnation of the stool seat.

This thread is really getting me motivated to get this on the road, i'm gonna put other drivers side fender on and start tightening up all the body bolts this week.....

so, front axle is a 77 Ford Dana 60 center with 80's dodge dually outer knuckles/hubs etc...... (I love the look of these old "Selectro Hubs" also narrowed about 8 inches to fit the truck width.... was going for the Marmon Herrington look.

It's a dual transfer-case that has a NP203 low range box and Bronco Dana 20 adapted together. I build it for a Jeep awhile ago and just modified to fit this truck . I've got at least a 100 hours of work in it.

  27. I guess the paisley was a '60's thing-I'm enjoying it and your fabricating work. Nice truck!

When I viewed the first pictures I thought "nice old stock truck, cool to have a tilt bed" and I wondered if it had three carbs but the air cleaners were in the shadow, all I can say now is the construction and attention to detail is off the charts, glad there are people (unlike me) that really have good fabrication and finishing skills.
