Tim yes that machine is made form an old band saw. The upper wheel & lower anvil rack rotate's 90 degree's if needed. When I have classes every one want to use it & I have 4 machines in my shop. It is just a great looking & usable machine Danny.

I don't see anything wrong with it. It's not like he/they are trying to work undercover. The company name is right there, up front. If they were lurking under a phony name, that would not be so good. I have no problem with them doing what they are doing. And, let's face it, they are an American company just trying to keep the lights on, like the rest of us.

This was just sent home with me by a very good buddy.

The story behind it is worth what he charged me for the tool. This Lennox has 33 years worth of Indianapolis 500 registered car stickers on it. I was told by my buddy that he was informed by the Speedshop he purchased it from that it came from an Indy 500 team. I wish I had more history on it because it is damn interesting..

That's what it looks like, but cannot be sure because the aluminum ID tag is nicked on the model number.

  15. Shane thanks for starting this thread.
I wouldnt worry about the negitave commets, as you can see there are a lot of us who really enjoy, and actually use some of this vintage equipment.
We have several older pieces in our shop we use almost daily.
We have a SOUTHBEND lathe dated 1948 that you can still order parts from SOUTHBEND if needed. In 60 years or so wonder where you will get parts for some of the equipment sold today?
Another piece we have is a 32in PS&W foot shear. Cant find any info on it, but guesing from the the 30s
    Thanks SPEEDY

  18. I remember back in '08 ,when Shane started this thread ,he was immediately flamed with "shameless self promotion " and other needless comments..yet he hung in and became an Alliance member & tech week sponsor.
Now 5 years later ,and after a LOTS of expensive equipment given as Tech Week prizes, I think he & Baileigh deserve an "Attaboy".
    So ,Shane ...Heres an Attaboy

back up! my layout table is an old hamilton letterpress table. 1" thick cast steel top. on it is an old vise anvil i use frequently. most of the body hammers i use are older than i am. i'm addicted to buying them. my lathe is a vintage craftsman 10x36. there's a lot of other misc. iron grinders and stands, but these are what i use the most.[IMG]
