    need some help....
presently, I have a 60 impala 4 door sedan. like the car, but want something different.

    OLDER!
    COOLER!

That being said, I'm not looking for a shoebox car or 32-34s....

I want something somewhat different and well, it needs to be cool. Not cool enough that you see 10 of them at a cruise in, but something... anything...

right now, I'm looking for ideas.
    :confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

figure you guys have some ideas/opinions...

  5. Personally, I think your '60 Impala is pretty cool. Drove one in HS, rode nice, decent power, comfy, and had a big back seat.

How 'bout a Stude PU, early 50s Hudson, yada, yada, yada... the possibilities are endless. Grab some old car magazines from the 50s-60s and thumb through them until something rings your chimes. Good luck on your hunt.

Keep the Impala. It's a cool car. That's right, I said a more-door is COOL!

There's a blue and white 60 4dr here in Indiana that looks identical to yours.

Funny you should say "Super" stupid question. If it was me, I'd be looking for a '53 Buick Super 2dr hardtop. About as late as you can go and still have the soft roundish lines as opposed to the slab-sided cars that came immediately afterward. It has the much-desired swept side trim and teardrop headlight bezels that the custom guys covet...the toothy grille, etc. One of the earliest hardtops. Very nice lines...even inside...Buicks of that era swept the dash into the doors. 322 V8 Nailhead engine. Dynaflow trans, which some guys don't really warm up to because they're a little expensive to fix...if you can find someone to work on it...and they've heard they're "slushy". But I've had a few Buicks with Dynaflows, and if it's up to snuff, it'll surprise you. Just very pretty cars, you don't see 'em all the time, and you can still find them at reasonable prices. Even the earlier straight eight models make for great cruisers and just like the one pictured, they're similarly styled and pretty too. Cadillac was supposedly the flagship for GM...but I like the Buicks better. Lower it a bit in the back with some shorter coils, add some skirts, open up the exhaust, and go cruisin'.

P.S. - The '53 Buick Special looks almost the same as the Super, but didn't have the V8 'til '54...they had the 263 straight eight.

Early '50s Mopar or Studebaker. Easy to find, not too expensive, and there are even hop-up parts available for the original engines if you want to go that route. Great cruisers too.

Studebaker Hawk or Avanti. Either would be a great daily driver as well.

If you want to go foreign, something like a Jaguar MK VIII or Mk IX would be different.....

Well let be first to say that nobody cares what you want. :)
Also everyone's definition of "different" or "cool" is , well, different.

Now with that out of the way, ill spend your money.

You can search here " dare to be different" and you'll get plenty of oddball stuff.

Buy a Tucker, take off the front fenders and instal cycle fenders.
Open up the rear wheel wells and instal 22" rubber.

I gurantee you that NO ONE will have one like that!

  29. Only you can answer the question. Do you really want something that everybody else thinks is cool? If so, I think you're going about it all wrong and you'll never be totally happy. Whatever it is, it's got to be something that YOU have a passion for. Otherwise, what's the point? You wouldn't want us picking out a wife for you, would ya?

Sounds like someone seeking the Seal of Public Approval because they have no ideas of their own. And quite frankly wtf does it matter what others think? My stuff is mainly oddball and some think it is really cool and others think it sucks because it's not a Deuce....
