actually had some time to mess with the coupe . changed the latches out from the orig set of doors so now the doors shut !! they fit very nice now and close like new ! also picked this frame up today for the crossmembers to put into the 32 frame! parts are piling up for the frame . stay tuned !!
glad ya like tug !! got my hands on one of the nicest decklids i have seen in a long time !! now to make it fit !
Certain folks say, "Just put a 2X4 on the rear quarter, "close" the lid down till it fits!" You might want to break some (spot?) welds in order to shape it to match. Looking good!
thanks pitman!! this thing fits pretty well for a car that was a rotted heap thanks manny and shane still some tweaking to do to the right lower corner and the top left corner of the body where the old decklid was mangled in a previous effort to remove it before i got it !
Bringing back this earlier post as I just found this great thread. Thanks for showing us, Flop! Got a question: As the lower bell in the pic has a panhard bar attached to it, I suppose it's from a '42-'48? I am asking because that's what I have lying around but have heard that they may a bit too wide for a Model A.
Hi Chrisman, the 42-48 rear ends are approx 1.5" wider than the earlier ones, only really a problem if you are running fenders.
ive never seen a 35 caddy dash before , a real nice looking piece , and you fit it in very well , this should be a sharp ride when on the road
took some brackets off the back and am very surprised how close this is to fitting . even the 35 ford steering column practically bolts up ! thanks everyone !! trying to get back into the swing of things but still have to sit a few days out here and there . today is one of them . orig gauges are staying . they will be rebuilt .
