Yes, I've pulled that copy years ago and focused on that car myself. All my cars at this time are Tudors...maybe it is because I'm 6'4" but they also look the most like sling shots to me.

I've always liked the Chet Herbert fordor. Can't really say why because I'm not a fordor fan. I do have a '32 tudor for a someday build.

I'll have to admit that, even though I love station wagons, I was never much of a fan of this body style. Then in the last several years I have started to see a few that just grabbed me like they never have before (like the olive one from Pimlico and Rodder's Journal). It's still hit or miss but I'm getting there.

I dig the stance and attitude of this one.

I bought a Chevy version of the Vicky because I could set the engine back and still fit me too. [IMG]

I like Tudors . . . for obvious reasons. My first car was this 30 A Tudor I got when I was 11 years old.

Only took 20 something years, but here it is now:

Earlier in the build pictured with my other A Tudor:

... which later became Phil Kendrick's Tudor:

... that was later painted pearl yellow & dubbed "SUPER PRUNE":

... and yes, at one point in its history, this Tudor was owned by Jeff Beck.

The first car I thought of after reading your post. You could put a picture of this car in the dictionary definition of "bad-ass Model A sedan."

I am sorry, maybe the definition of what a long roof is, is not black or white.. but maybe it is?

  15. When I was 12 my dad bought a '31 Model A 4 door slant windshield town sedan.

It was dark metallic green with a souped up banger motor with cam, a head and split exhaust manifold.

He put my Brother John and I in charge of getting it running.

I can remember my dad saying it was the fastest banger powered Model A he'd ever driven... it could do 75.

Ever since then... four door sedans have seemed like hot rods to me.

And the slant windshield gave the illusion of it being chopped... which added to the cool factor.

I'm a huge fan of the long roof. It's the hot rod I'm hoping to build one day. I've got 100's a pics of em. But I gotta say that Henri Richard's deuce is just a work of art. My top pick for sure. There's nothing about it i don't like.

Not from the 50's but it could have been. This Tudor really impressed me when I saw it in AlcanV8's 2009 Speedweek coverage. Paint is actually suede blue and the roof has a white insert.

I know the above car (post #23).
It's a SoCal car, Stude engine, the wife's car (not mine !), believe it or not. They drive their cars everywhere.

Ive always like sedans alot also, i have a 32 fordor and a 32 tudor both unfinished and have had a bunch of A tudors also. the first car i built on my own was a nailhead power chopped 31 tudor.

I too also love the chet herbet car, and have been thinking of a clone-ish car, i have a 5x2 howards intake for 302 gmc that would be the basis of it.

A lot of guys  don't know the difference on the 1932,1933,1934 Ford 2-Door Tudor Sedan body styles versus the 1932,1933,1934 Ford Victoria 2-Door Sedan body styles. The Victoria was the more stylish deluxe 2-Door Sedan offered in 1932-34 with the Victoria body having a slant / back or bustle back slanting forward versus the regular 2-Door Sedan with a straight back \ slanting back and under the mid body line. The 1932,1933 Ford Victoria was a bustle back and the  1934 Ford Victoria was a true / slant back. To make it more confusing almost all the fiberglass street rods of the 1933-1934 Ford Victoria are really a 1933 Ford Victoria bustle back. Victoria's are also called a Vicky, Vickie. The photo is of an extremely rare real 1934 Ford Victoria slant back original steel body street rod. By the way I'm selling this 1934 Victoria in the photo and you can call me with any questions. 29. Tudors are what got me into hot rods. Driving Henry Astor's 32 Sedan across country was a pivotal moment in my car education. It is what led me to buy mine from Boones. They are both great looking cars in my mind.

Any customs with a rear section the length of a coupe on a sedan?
