hello fellas, looking to get a hood for my 1953 oldsmobile, since that one i have on it was (pancake) by the previous owner..dont ask why but i just dont like the way it looks. thinking about to install a 1953 chevy belair hood but im not sure it will fit, or i have to do some modifications..any advice it will be apreciated. thanks!!
A Chevrolet hood WILL NOT fit your Oldsmobile. If you have a Super 88, you might be able to use '51 thru '53 Super 88 hood. Ray
53 Chevy hood will not fit the Olds, you will have to do alot of cutting and welding to make it work. Probably not worth your time. Also a 51 Olds will not fit your 53, here is my 53 Olds 88 with all 51 Olds front sheetmetal, the 53 needed too much body work so I swapped the whole thing out. A 1951 Olds hood is not a direct bolt up to the 53. You would need to get a complete nose from the 51. The 53 is too wide. You can try to work it in, but in the end it will still require alot of work. Best bet, find another 53 hood. 53 front (blue) 51 front (red)
