Did any one get any pictures or video of Skotz's wheelie's & his 9 second passes yesterday at little river? I knew I should have gone!!!
Blown flathead dragster. This was at Sealy last year. Sorry I did'nt make it down as well. Bet he still has a grin on his face.
Yesterday was too fricking cool.....been working on the new engine with a "few" interesting ideas incorporated into it. This was the 3rd outing for debugging it. Gave it some more boost and on the first pass it went airborne....got it down before the wall got it, then "back up in the air".....and went thru at 12.? @127mph.... Kenneth Ryerson and Tom Herber were helping me out....we came up with a second gear launch to keep it on the ground....9.88 sec @ 133 mph.....oh my fricking gosh....I'm on to something with this new setup!!!....ran again with same sort of setup....got into the 9's again @134mph...Whooo Hooo.....wheelie bars are in the works! If anyone got a shot of it in the air at Little River or Yello Belly a couple of weeks ago....I sure would like to see them I'm still buzzing off of it!!! Thanks for the comments, I am really proud of the little Dragster....I am living a dream and want to thank everyone who had any sort of part in the car to let this happen
Well done mate! Bonneville in the coupe, and now in the 9s with the rail. You have obviously led a clean and upstanding life....maybe! You must have the biggest shit-eatin grin! Cheers, Stewart.
at Yellow Belly I had walked down to the end where you had your trailer parked to see it still when I realized you were at the tree taking off.....man it was pulling and winning like crazy as you went by....thanks that was cool....here's a slow shot from YB....
Way to go my friend. That is awesome! Just imagine that thing staying down in first gear. That SOB is flying.
Thanks guys for all the cool comments....this has "obviously" been a labor of love with me and an ol obsession with Flatheads.....as I have been known to be quoted....."I put 5 times the time and 5 times the money to run slower than a chevy"......but is my game to see what I can make one of these ol obsolete engines do.......and I'm having a blast doing it Thanks again for the responses.....it is icing on the cake
Wow..... I tip my hat to you! great job! If people really knew how hard it was, to do what you have have done. Congrats
Kathy, we haven't heard from Kathy.....she's out there working on "her" Flathead so she can "can kick my ass"(her quote).....AND, I'm helping her in any way that I can!!!(never said "we" Flathead folks had any sense about us)
Tim, I just looked up your build again.....that thing is looking reeeal nice....you "will" have a bunch of fun with it....I kinda wish I could have posted the build/runs on the HAMB for the past 2 1/2 years....but haven't figured out "the easy way to post big pictures".....arghhhh Keep it coming our way
Kjell, I have been following your build off and on since you started posting....what a great incentive booster.....I guarantee you that "you" are gonna "be there one day"....you have built an awesome machine!!! I also like the "comment" on your info sheet where "I was born with a handicap(Flatheads)".....hahaha.....I understand
Well done. What a cool digger. skot..put all of your build and run pics in a photobucket album(free) and just link the album to the HAMB. Downloading might take a little time but it's saved in case your computer crashes too.
