Well just spent all my pop can money on your DVD ! LOL I got the other machine Baleigh power unit . Did some flames with it on a fire truck side panels turn out good .

 

Ordered the video a couple of days ago. Anybody get there copy yet? I was hoping mine would ship this week, no such luck. I'm very anxious to get it and see how jamey does all that amazing stuff

 

Had Some earlier work, this was the 2nd panel i had done.

Does a D5 Cat count as custom? Oh well, this will show you guys another option in using the bead roller....

So today I got a phone call, and long story short, needed to do some metalshaping for a Caterpillar D5 dozer. No, really! The last time this same mishap occurred was over ten years ago in my back yard. It seems dirt/mud gets packed between the stump pan and the oil pan, until a hole rusts through the oil pan. Last time Paul bought a new oil pan, but it sounded like he needed to use the dozer this week, so he brought it over for repair..







The heat marking is where he was attempting to braze it closed, with little success. Calipers showed the pan to be 14 ga, and I just happened to have some in stock. I've used the bead roller before to form a radius, but never on metal this thick before. This will be a good test of the fancy 75A durometer skateboard wheel to see how well it works.







Took a few passes, but worked real nice. Now for a relief cut and a weld...















Rust hole removed, patch trimmed and fitted, then welded in place..







.....and Paul cleans it up for paint..



You never know what you see over here in the shop....

 

Nice job on the pan. Dig the roller. What gives with the 55??

Finally got up the nerve to try rolling beads, decided to make hood skirts for my '33 truck. Like the rest of the truck, it came out just ok. Nothing great;

 

been a while since i posted on this thread. so i was asked to teach a bead rolling class by Baileigh industrial a while back, so it is coming up in a few weeks so i figured it was time to start practicing and and getting ready for the class. i really like Max Grundy's art work so i contacted him and asked if i could use some of his art work to do some panels for my own collection, thye turned out killer. here are some pics from my panels from today

thought of a kinda cool way to advertise some of my bead rolling stuff, why not put it on the front of my push truck? so i made a removable cover for my push bumper that i can show off some of my designs while at car shows and take it off when i push cars. kinda silly but something different and free advertising

 

I'm not sure you need much advertising ... you're known all over the HAMB!

All the work is do is done with the Mittler Brother - Jamey Jordan Signature Series 36", I use the MB-JJ Art Roll sets to do everything...

Wow.. you guys make it seem so simple. I have a modified hf bead roller with a motor collecting dust.. I haven't even used it yet. Makes me want to go start creasing up some metal!
