I went to Autozone and got a set of Duro-max. Around $20 and they are black. I used to run the yellow Accel, then I got tired of living in the 70's.

I got my 8mm accell wires in black...its actually almost a dark grey color! Autozone can order em, and they are available at most swapmeets. I bought the universal set so I could run em behind the valve covers and under the exhaust manifolds.

Just not a popular color for a lot of people. If YOU like them, get them.

I used them on my O/T car... I liked them.

For my '61 I use the "Muscle Car Reproduction" black universal wires. So far so good.

I don't think much about them because they're hideously ugly.

I've used them several times... they have always been ok for me. I am currently running a set of black accels, they've been on since about 2006 and are still going good.

  11. Yup, the yellow really distracts, unless the car is yellow.

IF YOU want to be period correct the "yellow" accell wires was the norm on late 60's thru mid 70's. they served me well and they was wire wires not this chepo carbon conductor wire.

Summit has them on sale for 19.50 with free shipping. Supposedly that part number fits a batch of Fords from the 60s and 70s.
I was thinking plug wires in the 60s were 7 mm. I have had some difficulties fitting larger wires into earlier coils and dist caps.

  16. A good deal does not mean its a good decision. That was the cool shit in high school but that was on a pile of shit. Black or cloth braided are just more sano.
