Great looking finished car. Some really good work from top to bottom. Love the yellow and black contrast. Beautiful!

  7. Thanks! The colors are actually yellow and brown... and the fenders are black. I believe it was a sport coupe color combo that my dad liked.

    It's growing on me.

My Uncle had a 34Chevvy roadster with a rumble that could be stowed when not required. I'm talking about the 40s/50s.
The standard rear panel rolled up to make a 'see through' and the rumble roof had all the required windows. Pretty neat!

The Coupe looks great! I started on my Pick-up back when the resto-rod was in, even with a V-6 too.

  19. That's an awesome looking model a. A great story about the rumble cozy and getting the same car you rode in as a kid.

You know what's ultimately bitchin' about this deal? It really keeps a LOT of your Dad's car alive AS WELL AS feeding the hot rod bug. It's funky and just fukk'n cool.

  24. I re-jetted the carb and timed it again and got that bog out... runs real good now!

Here's a pic at last weekends' Goodguys Show... I weighed it at the Ridetech booth.

It was a porker! 2600 pounds exactly!

It had a 51.2% 48.8% weight bias... with gas in the gas tank, it would have been 50/50!!

I got the bumpers on too... looks better, I think.

I like it, a real sleeper. Goes to show, you don't have to chop them 8-9 inches to look good. My 2 cents.

  26. The neat thing about this car is like Jeem aluded to... there is a lot of my dad in this old car.

    For instance the trailer hitch.

He worked at Gallo Wine... and made it at work... out of stainless steel.

It was always painted black, but he used to say "You know that trailer hitch is stainless... I should get it polished!"

When he sold this car in 1991, he took the hitch off of it, and a lot of other parts... and put them on my grandpa's car.

Then, when I made my gradpa's car a hot rod, I tool a lot of these parts off and tucked them away.

I tried to sell this hitch... but nobody wanted it for the $40 I tried to sell it for!

But when I bought this car back in 2006... I was glad that I didn't sell it.

And... I sent it to my friend Tim Dalton's shop... The Shining... to get it polished.

Just like dad would have wanted.

    :)
