  3. Car's serial is in the Alabama computer system, so you couldn't re-register it there.

Keep an eye on craigslist.com for the engine or body/chassis parts. You can do a global search from each sub heading under the states listing. If you see your parts keep a straight face till you leave and get the cops to help.

Dave, that really sucks! Pretty good bet that whoever did this knows you, hope they didn't get anything else. Not at home right now but when I get back to E'prise I'll BOLO, will also let Jackie H. in Ozark know right away so he can tell his hundreds of friends to look out for it too...pretty sure either Bruce or one of his guys is on here and I'm sure they'll do the same. Hang in there,

Hi, where is the serial number tag located on that car? I am parting out a 41 desoto 2dr and had someone email me to try to buy the serial number tag from mine.. I refused since it could be used to renumber a stolen car. Is the tag on the firewall on in one of the door jam areas?

The tags are on the firewall on the drivers side and one on the passenger door jam. (near the bottom hinge)

OK, so the same as the desoto, just wondering if the guy was trying to put the tag on a non desoto car, he said the tag was on the firewall but was not the trim tag.

I'll bet that car is a lot closer than you imagine and that you are well aquainted with the thief. He could be one of your buddies and is probably after the motor. Keep your ears open for someone who just happened to stumble across an old hemi and just happened to get a good deal on a running motor. Hope you have the serial numbers from it. I've been through this shit before.

More recovered theft here on the HAMB! Glory!

Bet there was a good detective on the job...a cyber punch to the villians. Bully for the man who found the trail...
