  3. Neighbor up the road has a federal farm truck/ex-military similar to that, but I would bet its mid/late 40's. Never thought to ask about it.

    Growing up in the early sixties in northern Michigan. I saw a lot of them. Along with Reo and Diamond T's. The counties used them for road maintanance work horses..:D

    Yeah this truck is an old military Air Force truck.

  8. Federal made many huge 6X6 wreckers during WWII
    About 8 years ago there was a guy in Caldwell Idaho that sold off a bunch of old trucks, many were Federals

    No it's not chain drive. And Ramblur that Texaco tanker truck is nearly identical to the one of mine, thanks for posting it!

    These are cool trucks, I think I own one now, well as of this morning! Has anybody made a hot rod out of one?
     
  13. ^ I don't there are many 5 ton hot rods out there. but one done as a roll back would be awesome.

  17. I took pics pf this one at an ATHS show in KS a couple years ago. Didn't think to get the other side.

    I tried to buy a grille from one at a flea market, wanted too much for it.

    Putting this together now mine is a Brockway cab on a ford frame ford flathead powered ,when i found Cab it was atverticed as a Federal cab
