Hot Rods Banger Coupe. Fenders or not?? Poll

if it's a 1930/1931 i'd run fenders, if it's a 1928/1929 i'd run fenderless.

I think go with the fenders if you have them in good shape might as well use them. If you don't like how it looks you can always pull them.

I like fenders.

 

There was a quote from a HAMBer that I saw awhile back but I don't remember who, it went something like this " fenders, take them off, smash them flat, then you will have some sheet metal to make something useful "

I don't agree with that line of thinking but I do like them sans fenders, less weight, all business. We all have different likes/tastes though, that's what makes this place great

 

I wanted my banger coupe to have fenders, but I have NO problems without them either.

Here are my two. As you can see, two totally different style cars.

 

The fenders and running boards don't weigh much. But wind resistance will be less without 'em.

I like 'em both ways, but I think fenders give the car more of a streeter look. No fenders looks more like a lakes racer.

How about the alternative...bobbed rear fenders, no running boards, and cycle-style front fenders made from a spare tire ring? Lot's of guys did 'em that way years ago. Not as popular these days it seems...more so with the guys across the ocean. I like the look.

And keep the full fenders and running boards up in the rafters.

 

I vote fenders. I have some for my coupe but the wife says, "NO! I looks more GrandPa" but she's 29yo.

My 31 A has more tinkering, cause of the 4 Banger. My 26 T had more tinkering cause of the Fenders not the Buick V6.
