The round part in the middle is a vibration dampner for the 4 banger. The battery holder is not original.
Early '32 firewalls had a place for linkage or something because Ford was going to use a vacuum boosted clutch. This never reached production but early B blocks had a boss on the left side of the block for the same reason.
It's Deuce firewall. Yours came out of a 4cyl car going by the gas pedal linkage but all the firewalls were punched for both engines. My early V8 fire wall had the holes for the 4 cyl linkage and the big round thing in the middle. (I never memorized what they called it) You can see the unused 4 cyl holes in my V8 firewall.
Was just glad to finally pick one up. Have been looking for a while now but most were too pricey for me. My 32 has had this in it for the past 30+ years! here's a couple better pics
